About Jennifer and Dion
Dion and Jennifer Warr became full-time Houstonians in 2021, although Dion has been working in Houston since 2017. Both native Louisianians, he has been engaged in the practice of landwork for 28 years as an independent field landman, contract in-house landman and company landman now working for Diversified Energy Company. She has worked in healthcare for 29 years, first as an ICU nurse for 8 years before returning to obtain her Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia in 2007. She has since practiced as a CRNA for 18 years and is currently employed with US Anesthesia Partners (“USAP”) and working in the Medical Center. They are both active in their respective local and national professional organizations, and became affiliated with the Women’s Fund through friends and fellow members of the Houston chapter of the International Wine & Food Society. Married for 26 years, they live, love and share their passions for food, wine, hiking and travel with friends and family, including their two sons Hunter (27) and Austin (31).

About Dr. Elizabeth Grimm
Dr. Elizabeth Grimm – Visionary Spirit Award, for shaping the future of women’s health through leadership, mentorship, and investment in the next generation.
Dr. Elizabeth Grimm exemplifies visionary leadership in women’s health—advancing discovery, education, and opportunity in ways that will shape the future of medicine for generations to come. Her distinguished career reflects not only scientific excellence, but a deep commitment to mentorship, access, and long-term impact.
For more than 35 years, Dr. Grimm served as a professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, most recently in the Division of Cancer Medicine’s Department of Melanoma Medical Oncology. A nationally respected cancer researcher, she played a significant role in laboratory discoveries that helped advance successful immunotherapy treatments for patients—work that continues to inform more precise and effective therapies today. In addition to her research, she served as Deputy Division Head for Research in Cancer Medicine and as a professor at the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, where she designed and led the Texas Medical Center’s first NCI-supported Cancer Biology predoctoral program, expanding pathways into oncology research.
Beyond her academic and clinical achievements, Dr. Grimm’s legacy is defined by her belief in investing in people—particularly women pursuing careers in science and healthcare. Through transformative philanthropy, including major support for STEM education and the establishment of scholarships, Dr. Grimm has consistently demonstrated her commitment to building opportunity and sustaining the future of research, education, and women’s leadership in medicine. Her partnership with The Women’s Fund reflects a shared vision: that advancing women’s health requires not only innovation, but intentional investment in the next generation.
Now retired as Professor Emerita, Dr. Grimm continues to lead with purpose—devoting time to family, the arts, volunteerism, and initiatives that support children and education. Her spirit of resilience and foresight has guided a lifetime of impact and continues to inspire what is possible when leadership is paired with legacy.

Monica Fulton embodies the very essence of resilience—and brings it to life through service to others. A devoted mother of two, Monica has navigated profound grief, loss, and personal challenges, shaping a deep well of empathy that fuels her unwavering commitment to community.
At The Women’s Fund, Monica is a connector, advocate, and champion for health education. She strengthens impact by cultivating partnerships, engaging volunteers, supporting internships, and helping sustain long-term programming that advances the health and resiliency of women and girls across Greater Houston. Her leadership reflects a belief that resilience is not only personal, but collective—and must be intentionally nurtured across generations.
Monica’s commitment to service extends far beyond any single organization. She leads Friends of HTT at a preschool serving unhoused children, serves on the board of SEARCH Homeless Services, works with the Texas Center for the Missing to help reunite families, and supports arts education through pARTnerschools. Through PowerUp4HTT and Petal Power, Monica also engages middle and high school students in hands-on service, creating meaningful pathways for young people to give back, serve their communities, and understand the power of civic engagement at an early age.
Originally from Panama and a Trinity University alumna, Monica began her career as a recruiter and now dedicates herself fully to community service. She is a passionate advocate for fine arts education and a proud supporter of music and opera through her family’s involvement in the arts.
Through care, compassion, and tireless advocacy, Monica pours resilience into others—ensuring that women, children, and vulnerable communities are seen, supported, and uplifted.
