About Dr. Srivaths
Dr. Lakshmi Srivaths is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology at University of Texas Health Science Center and McGovern Medical College and Gulf States Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Center at Houston, Texas, USA. She is the Director of Pediatric Thrombosis Program and Co-Director of Pediatric Brain and Spine Clinic and faculty at the Young Women’s Bleeding Disorders clinic at UT Houston, previously the Co-Director of Young Women’s Hemostasis and Thrombosis Program at Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, Texas from 2009-2019.

Dr Srivaths’ clinical & research expertise is in the area of pediatric & adolescent hemostasis and thrombosis, with many grants, collaborative research and publications. She has received many awards for her work including The John P. McGovern Foundation’s “Champion for Women’s Health and Wellness” award 2025, ‘Excellence in Education’, Pediatric Fellowship Training Programs’ Education Award, M.D. Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital/UT Health, Houston, 2021, Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award, UT Health, McGovern Medical School, Houston, Texas, 2022, 2023, 2024 ; Women of Excellence Award, BCM, 2020, Rising Star Clinician Award, 2015, Fulbright & Jaworski L. L. P. Faculty Excellence Award, “Teaching and Evaluation” category, BCM 2011, and the Fellows’ Education Award, TCHC, 2011.

She is the editor of the textbook “Hematology in the Adolescent Female”. She has held many leadership positions and is currently the co-chair for the Pediatric and Neonatal Thrombosis & Hemostasis ISTH Scientific Sub-Committee, the past Chair for the Women and Girls with Blood Disorders-Learning Action Network, FWGBD and current co-chair of the Medical Advisory Committee, FWGD.
