Osteoporosis is a common condition in the US, principally affecting postmenopausal women. Osteoporosis-related fractures impact approximately 50% of women in the US and can not only cause pain and increased healthcare costs, but can also lead to loss of mobility, loss of independence and even increased risk of death. In this talk, we will review the basics of osteoporosis and hopefully empower you to engage in a meaningful discussion about this condition with your physician.
