About Dr. Davidson

Dr. Asha Davidson is a physician who is double board–certified in pediatrics and adolescent medicine and specializes in the care of teens and young adults with eating disorders and menstrual cycle disorders. She has expertise in co-managing anxiety, depression, and other health conditions and provides a weight-inclusive approach. She enjoys working closely with a multidisciplinary to provide comprehensive, culturally sensitive care for patients and their families.

A native Houstonian, Dr. Davidson completed her undergraduate education at New York University and received her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. She returned home to Houston to complete her residency in Pediatrics and her fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She remained at the institution to practice as faculty in Adolescent Medicine to serve patients in the Greater Houston area. Her research interests include care of teen parents, social determinants of health in eating disorders, and management of abnormal uterine bleeding. Her other clinical interests also include comprehensive care for health maintenance and treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome. She is passionate about health care access, patient education, and provider education especially due to the sparse formal medical training regarding eating disorders. Outside of her clinical duties, she is assistant program director for the Adolescent Medicine Fellowship, coordinates the Adolescent Medicine rotation for trainees, and serves as medical director for the UTHealth Houston Center for Eating Disorders.
