Each day we juggle the different relationships in our lives, some of which are tough to manage.

Join us on February 16th as we discuss how to navigate various types of close relationships. We’ll discuss communication behaviors and characteristics of both healthy and unhealthy relationships and provide suggestions for improving relationships, including how to set boundaries and communicate effectively.

Dr. Kara Winkler

Speaker: Dr. Kara Winkler

Dr. Winkler is an Assistant Professor in Communication Studies at the University of Houston-Downtown. She has a Ph.D. in Interpersonal Communication and teaches courses on relational communication, gender and communication, and intercultural communication.

Her research focuses on sexual health and disclosure in close relationships across the lifespan, which she has presented at over 20 national and international conferences and published in top-tier journals such as Communication Monographs, Human Communication Research, and the Journal of Family Theory and Review.
