Power Up the H.E.A.T. (Health Education Anytime)

Power Up the H.E.A.T. utilizes topics from our 10-week skills based What About Me? class curriculum or trending topics. Each one-hour session is presented on a monthly basis.  Presentations ensure young girls who are at a vulnerable age have the right information about their bodies and the choices they will have to make as adolescents. We know many girls rely on their peers and the internet to get this information, and they are not getting the facts. We aim to teach those facts and dispel the myths, so our participants leave equipped with the knowledge they need to make the best decisions for themselves.

Topics include:

  • Goal Setting
  • Decision Making
  • Communication
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Personal and Community Violence
  • Stress and Coping
  • Nutrition
  • Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs
  • Relational Aggression
  • Self Esteem
